Christopher Yelverton, 42, and  Amanda Petherbridge, 34, are each charged with robbery, conspiracy, and related counts, Bensalem police said in a release on Monday, July 22.

The robbery happened at the 2511 Lincoln Highway 7-Eleven in Trevose just before 3 a.m., investigators said. Yelverton walked into the gas station and asked for a carton of Newport cigarettes, then pointed a handgun through his sweatshirt at the cashier and demanded money, according to authorities.

He walked out with an undisclosed sum of cash and the cigarettes then fled the scene, police said.

Using surveillance footage and license plate readers, investigators determined he left in a silver-blue Chevrolet Malibu that fled south on Route 1 into Philadelphia, township police said. Officers pulled the car over when they spotted it near the Lincoln Highway Wawa around 5 a.m., authorities wrote in the release.

In the backseat, they spotted the black clothes Yelverton wore during the robbery, along with a large amount of cash and a black handgun, police said. A search of the car also turned up the Newports, four black face masks, and narcotics, according to officials.

In police interviews, Yelverton and Petherbridge admitted to the 7-Eleven robbery as well as two other gunpoint stickups outside of Bensalem, authorities added.

Both are being held on 10 percent of $100,000 bonds and have preliminary hearings scheduled for July 31, court records show.
